| Loose Diamonds for Men | Loose Diamonds for Men |
The Ancient Greeks believed diamonds to be splinters of stars that fell to the earth while fanatics of God worship believe they are tears of powerful gods and goddesses. Buying a diamond is synonymous to entering a world of romance, intrigue, legend and history. Men know the importance of diamonds in their lives. Offering a woman a diamond is often their last act of love before announcing their intent to marry. However, the relationship of man and diamonds has grown tremendously through the years. It is no longer limited to a “safekeeping” before offering to the woman they choose. Now, men also see diamonds as an accessory they can use. Much like a watch, a bracelet or even a necklace. It has also gone past the “wedding band” stage. Men do not only wear diamonds because it is the feature stone in their wedding ring. Rather because they actually like it.
Think about this. Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, and David Beckham. What do these three powerful and popular men have in common? Aside of course from the fact that they are world-class athletes. I’ll tell you what. It is their apparent like for the same “adornment” – a pierce in their ear showcasing a tiny sparkle of what else? Diamonds. When the “ear pierce for men” revolution began to get popular again a couple of years back, the sporting world was one of the first groups to welcome it with open arms. The thing that separates them from “ordinary” citizens however is the material they have chosen. Diamonds are recognized status symbols such that their popularity is no longer limited to just the female species. Men are also sporting these precious stones. In fact men from the music scene who wore generous amounts of diamonds on their necks, fingers, ears, and even nose popularized the term “bling”, which refers to flashy jewelry. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Usher Raymond, Notorious Big and many more celebrities have hopped on the “bling” wagon.
Before, men’s interactions with diamonds are limited to male royalty wearing a diamond-adorned crown and holding a diamond-encrusted scepter. Or high priests holding a diamond-filled crucifix. Now, the diamond surge in the formerly thought of as “less interested sex” has gone through so many developments. You see men proudly wearing discreet diamond studded necklaces and bracelets. Their interest in this precious stone has even extended to their often-used cuff links and tie clips. If monograms were all that adorned cuff links before, they have made way for a new addition to the family: diamond cuff links.
Diamond has indeed risen to become a status symbol that their use has become widespread even among men – provided of course that they can afford it. More and more men are also choosing diamonds as feature for their rings and not just sticking with the plain gold band they used to favor.
Even society has grown to accept the blossoming romance of men and diamonds. Look at magazines, for instance. In their male spread or men’s section, “gift ideas” for men are no longer limited to electronic items and rubber shoes. Instead, it includes a variety of objects that often make use of this precious stone.
